Anyone who has been reading our site for the last couple years know we are still working on getting Graham’s shop finished. We have spread the work out over four years now, I think. Not because we wanted to but because life kept getting in the way.

Here’s where we are with the shop now. Graham has set up the scaffolding on the back side of the shop. We needed the scaffolding in order to put up the fascia boards. They are the black boards going up to the roof peak.

He still needs to finish off the blocking, and then we can start with soffits. Oh and all the shingles that will be on both the gable ends. We still have to buy the shingles and then lucky lucky ME gets to stain them all. Won’t that be fun??

At the same time, we are trying to get the final inspection done for the electrical work inside. We needed to have the interior walls insulated, vapour barrier put up, tuck tape all the seams. Here’s what we got done this week.

We don’t need the ceiling to be insulated or closed in (for the inspection) so we are concentrating on the few things left to do in order to call for inspection. These include hanging 2 exterior light fixtures and putting up one sheet of OSB around the bottom of the walls. All those electrical outlets and light switches need to be sheathed in OSB.

We’re getting there! It’s been a work in progress, that is true. Come wintertime, Graham will have a nice warm large shop to work on vehicles and the machinery we use around the property.
