Now that Winter is settling in, I’m pulling out the needles and wool. Not sure if I have time to get a couple of nice warm hats knitted before Christmas, but I can try. I love knitting and crocheting, but don’t spend the time on it that I would like to. I found these free patterns on Alpaca Direct. They have beautiful wool and lots of choices. They carry alpaca, merino, possum blends (!) mohair and others; check them out. I’m going to work on a few toques (wool ski hats for the non-Canadians reading this). What’s better than sitting by the woodstove with needles in hand?
Here’s the first pattern I am going to do. I think Graham will appreciate another warm touque for when he’s working in his shop.
We have a basket sitting on the steps to the basement and it’s full of knitted hats and slippers. Easy to grab one from the basket on the way out the door.
I’d love to give these fingerless gloves a try. I have a pair, knitted for me by my friend Marion and I love them! However, they are pretty thick and I’d like some thinner gloves for when it’s not so cold outside. Fingerless gloves are awesome.
Head over to Alpaca Direct and grab some free patterns. They also have gift cards available; which are great for the knitter on your Christmas list. Who wouldn’t want to find a gift card in their stocking?
