Canadian Seed and Fresh Garlic – Naturally Grown

This post contains affiliate links. If you buy through these links, I may earn a small commission.

Our Garlic is growing – our recent warm temperatures and then lots and lots of rain has been resulted in fantastic growing conditions for our 2016 Garlic crop.

We only grow garlic from Organic Certified Seed and this year we have 8000 plants in the ground.

We will begin selling mid-August and ship all across Canada. We will be updating the Garlic 2016 Harvest and buying information here.

Last year we added a fourth variety – Tibetan –  and we are excited to see how well it does. We won’t have much for sale this year, but next year we should be able to release quite a few heads of this wonderful strain.

We also grow Russian Red, Yugoslavian Porcelain and Music. We love Garlic and everything about it – we often roast or grill a head for each of us.

So healthy and so very delicious. Here are a few pictures of the 2016 crop in the ground.

Half of the main garden has been turned over to Garlic, along with a lower garden stuffed full to capacity.

In the picture, you can see all four varieties; it looks so healthy and strong.

Yugoslavian Porcelain – the stems on these are huge and we hope that translates into beautiful huge bulbs.

Tibetan – the new kid on the block. Smaller than the Yugoslavian, but it is still very early in the season.

Last year’s bulbs had about 6 cloves each and they were huge!

Russian Red – the very first Garlic we ever planted years ago. Every year since then we have increased the number of this strain and now have over 2500 in the ground.

I suppose we became addicted over time!

Music Garlic loving the sunshine. These are large heads with a small amount of cloves, but each clove is big!

Garlic Scapes

Garlic Scapes will be arriving in about three weeks and by mid-June they will be coming on like gangbusters. We will have 8000 Scapes and can ship these anywhere in Canada as well.

We will be reaching out to Vancouver restaurants this year, so get in touch with us if you are interested. These taste delicious steamed or grilled – you can pickle them too!

If this year is like last year, we should be harvesting around mid-July.

Curing will take a couple of weeks and we should be able to start selling and shipping by mid-August.

We will be heading to the South Cariboo Garlic Festival at the end of August so come and see us if you are in the area. We are listed there as Bradley Creek Garlic Farms.

Prices will be determined soon and will be advertised on both sites.

If you are looking for Canadian seed garlic or fresh eating garlic, please be sure to buy only naturally grown or organic certified.

Garlic that has been sprayed with pesticides is not worth eating – that is the cheap stuff you find in the grocery store. We use zero pesticides or herbicides and are proud of our naturally grown, healthy Garlic!

I really wanted to plant garlic this year but with everything else we forgot about it. I’m thinking I might just put some in the ground on the outer part of the garden fencing and see what happens.
